The Beatles' third original UK album, released in July 1964. It also serves as the soundtrack album for their debut film, "A Hard Day's Night." Unlike previous albums, it features all-original songs, making it the only album of its kind. The album's success, along with the film, symbolized their peak of global popularity.
This album marked the beginning of their use of 4-track recording, leading to more advanced stereo mixes compared to the primitive left-right split stereo of their first two albums. While mono records were the mainstream at the time, and there were numerous differences in the mixes between mono and stereo versions, only the mono version was initially released on CD. The official stereo CD release came in 2009.
