American Theocracy by Kevin Phillips
Written in 2006 about the impacts of oil, debt, and religion on U.S politics. It's a bit haunting how, even 20 years ago, these were major issues; very interesting to read & compare to the current U.S climate. There is a right-leaning bias from the author, but he does a good job of sticking to the objective facts, and doesn't allow his own political beliefs to muddy the message of the book. Nothing wrong with it, I'm just trying to de-clutter my bookshelf :) Hardcover with a dust protector. Bought second-hand from a library sale.
